Lamu, Kenya

Lamu! I finally went in May, I've wanted to go for at least 10 years consciously and probably much longer unconsciously. Such a respite from the endless traffic in Nairobi. In Lamu there is only foot, donkey, and boat traffic. The one motor vehicle belongs to the local police.

Fuji portrait experiments

I've had this film in my lead-lined bag for a year and finally processed it, having completely forgotten what it was. Last summer I walked everywhere with a 6x4.5 Fuji camera and made some portraits. These are photos of Ionna, Luke, and Kiki, students of mine from the Oxbridge Program in Paris, where I teach a black and white photo class each summer.
